The Sailfish
AT MARSH CREEK MARINE
To our wonderful community —
We love being a family-friendly destination and seeing so many families enjoying time together at The Sailfish & Ballyhoos. As a locally owned and operated business, creating a safe, welcoming space for everyone is incredibly important to us.
That said, we need your help. There are many moving parts of both a marina & restaurant that bring about consistent safety awareness. We've experienced growing safety concerns due to unsupervised children on the property. This has unfortunately led to property damage — from broken fire pit glass and damaged vegetation (that our business paid to repair) to safety issues on our marina docks & parking areas. Recently, our hired entertainment was affected, as well as patrons experience during our live entertainment event when equipment was unplugged by unsupervised children. Customers reached out to our management team to express concerns, asking for action and support to ensure everyone can have fun, in a safe way, at these events.
Our staff, while always happy to help, are not equipped to monitor unattended children — especially around parking areas, employee zones, and the waterfront. We've even found [young] children alone on the docks, and in the parking lot areas, with guardians unaware inside the restaurant.
To keep our space safe and enjoyable for all, it is our policy that children remain with a parent or guardian at all times. Whether you're dining upstairs, enjoying the Ballyhoos area, or walking the marina premises, please ensure they’re with you. Direct parent supervision, and keeping children at your dining table, ensures they are not running, climbing, or wandering near restricted areas, and that all guest have a wonderful experience with us.
Many of our staff are parents too. We get it, and we’re proud to be part of this amazing community, and with your support, we can continue to offer a fun, safe, and relaxing experience for everyone.
Management reserves the right to ask families that fail to adhere to our [Family Safety Policy] to leave the premises. This policy is in place to ensure a safe & enjoyable environment for everyone.
Thank you for understanding and partnering with us.
It is the policy of The Sailfish & Ballyhoos that all children be directly supervised by a parent or guardian when not seated at your table.
